MRI

Magnetom Concerto
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a test that uses a large magnet and radio waves to produce images of the human body. MRI allows for the doctor to clearly visualize internal structures without the pain of incision. MRI, unlike some other tests, does not use radiation to produce these images.

The Orthopaedic Center owns a state-of-the-art Siemens Concerto Unit, which uses a 0.2 Tesla Open Whole Body Magnet. This open magnet is different from most MRI machines and is less stressful for claustrophobic patients. Patients are also able to bring their own music to listen to throughout the process. The MRI unit is located in the lower-level of the Tippecanoe office and we have a Board Certified Radiologist on staff. A Neuroradiologist reads all spine exams and reports are available within 24 to 48 hours of the procedure. Patients of referring physicians may hand-carry films the same day as the procedure (by Physicians request). Films and reports will be onsite for all patients of the Physicians of our office. Our MRI scheduling department will assist with authorization and scheduling of exams.
